Well, it looks like the African safari is back on. After September 11th we put things on hold. But around January we and the Nielsens, Liz and Gary, decided to go for it. Around March Sandy Sale wanted to join us. We made a few changes to the original itinerary we planned last summer. Kenya is now part of the trip, whereas before we were only going to Tanzania.
After looking over many safari companies we settled on Baobab Safari located in San Francisco. Many thanks to Steve at Baobob and Lori at Itchy Foot Tours for making this a very memorable experience. Everything turned out great! If you are thinking of going to Africa, I highly suggest you call Lori. Her phone number is 415-282-9111.
A very special thank you to our three guides: Preston Mutinda for Kakamega Forest and Lake Nakuru, Peter for Lewa Downs, and Patrick Raphael for Arusha, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro. These three were so knowledgeable, personable, and hospitable, which made our trip so special. They truly made the trip an unforgetable experience, which will stay with us forever.
The word 'safari' in swahili means journey. So come along and share our journey.
